A while back a friend sent me pictures of signs and indicated "Only In Texas", which may be the case but they are really appropriate anywhere.

Like the sign....
April 26th, 2006!
About 2:25pm, April 26th, 2006 I smoked my last smoke. Today is the 10th anniversary. I owe my successful quitting to Dr Alan Hornell and to Chantix.
I know I must have tried to quit smoking or told myself I was going to at least a hundred times in the 40 years or so since I started and did not really think that this time would be any different...it was different. There was no conscious stopping and with Chantix, you begin the oral drug and you continue smoking...until you don't. That simple.
There is no withdrawal symptoms for me, other than I did have some weird dreams. Chantix is not for everyone though. Psychotic changes and events have been reported, including suicide thoughts so one must be aware and be ready to discontinue and consult their doctor in the event any of these symptoms appear. That said, it is well worth the risk if it will help you quit like it did me.
It wasn't only me that Chantix helps. My wife, Leslye, began Chantix, along with my daughter Kathy, shortly after me. They both were successful too and they both will have a 10th anniversary later this year. Our best friend, Patty succeeded too.
Leslye and I were raised in home that smoked and in that age, there was peer pressure as well as social acceptance of smokers. You went to the doctors offices and generally there were ash trays in the waiting room. You went into any office and there were ash trays on desks. It was just everywhere and you didn't give it another thought.
But now, thankfully, smoking is on the wane. It is so obvious when you pass a smoker as the smell is so strong. I think back now when I had that odor on me and I apologize to everyone that I offended. I truly did not know how offensive that could be.
I am not crusading against smoking, I really am giving thanks for the help I got to quit and for anyone that really wants to quit, talk to your doctor and if he's agreeable, try Chantix. It will cost you about what 2 cartons cost.

So Sick.....
So sick and tire of the politics of 2016. I had thought that all we needed was an election to cure these last 8 years of this worse president since George Washington. But, No........., we have to have a set of semi, (if not total) clowns running. We've got the United Soviet Socialist Damacrat party on one side and this contest (?) between a guy that no one know whether he's liberal of conservative, but we all know he's an Aqua Net man....and then we have who is probably a good guy but inexperienced and a little erratic and this other fellow from Ohio who has made a good governor but seems to like obamacare. That alone is a dis-qualifier.
We don't vote, or don't vote at all for one of our weak links, or we let the socialist destroy our country. I would vote for your left big toe ingrown toenail before I voted for either one of the damocrats but damn, what a choice.

Lauuudy!
Lauuudy, we have had a busy March and April.
We've had company on and off for almost a month. It was a lot of fun. Our grandson and granddaughter are on the McAllen High School Water Polo teams and they were in Round Rock for a tournament. Both their teams did pretty good too while they didn't win. I don't think on my best day, I would have had the stamina to get through one of those matches.
We also had a get together here to see our other grandson and his girl friend off on their big adventure. They have been planning on going to Australian for the past two or three years and they finally made it. They arrived there yesterday after an 15+hour flight from LA. That was after a 3 hour flight from Concun, Mexico. They routed their trip through Mexico to save some money. Apparently booking from Mexico to Melborne is cheaper even though you have to go through LA and even though you are flying United. Maybe it has something to do with the exchange rates?
Our best friend came up for a week after we got Ryan and Liz off and we really enjoyed the relaxed visit. She always cooks up here skiddy sauce and gumbo for us to freeze and it really saves me a lot of cooking.
She's gone home now and does the house seek quite. After having people here on and off for a month, it just seems empty.
Enjoy your day!
