HVAC Contractor to avoid in the Travis, Williamson County area.

In June of this year, I hired EMS HVAC Home Services to replace my entire Heating and Air Conditioning system.  It was heck getting any response out of the company as to when it was scheduled or any communication out of them at all until one day they called and said the Technician was on the way.

Once they arrived, the two of them went to work with a fever.  They seemed to know what they were doing despite their appearance.  Shortly the A/C was running and doing it's job which was muchly appreciated as we were on our 6th day without A/C in the middle of the worse heat wave of the year.

All is fine and good until early November when the first cold snap hit us.  We turned on the heating side of the system and nothing.  No heat, no fan.  We called them and they promised someone out in two or three days.  In the meantime, we had to live under blankets 24/7.  Finally, a Tech came out and checked the system.  Lo and behold, the gas was turned off because there was no exhaust system hooked up to the system.  They would order the parts!

It was several days before they delivered the parts and then later a technician showed up to install them.  This was five months after they said the job was done.

The most infuriating part of dealing with this company is the lack of communication.  No one will return calls.  When there is a problem, no one gives you an idea of how it will be resolved.  When they screw up and don't complete a job, no one apologizes.

To get them to move off the dime and repair the heating system, I had the Georgetown Code Endorsement department, actually, 3 men, follow up with EMS to get them to finish the job.  In fact, EMS contracting was not even registered with the City and did not get a permit to do this job.

I have also filed a complaint with the Texas Department of Contracting and Registration.   For all, it will do, probably a waste of time.
